How it works
Upon completion of the first half of the course back at home, you will receive referral paperwork and a logbook signed by your instructor who trained you. This you will have to bring along and hand over to your Ocean Legends tour guide, this is important, because without the referral documentation you will not be able to complete your course.
With your PADI Instructor from Ocean Legends you then continue the course by successfully completing the 4 remaining open water dives in the Indian Ocean.
If those four dives went well you've succeeded and will receive your PADI Open Water certificate. This allows you to dive anywhere in the world independently - with independent we mean no instructor, but always accompanied with a buddy.
Once you have qualified, you can do fun-dives with the rest of the group. For individual dives you pay the local dive centers between € 20 and € 50 per fun-dive.
Basically, you don't have to buy any equipment for the PADI Open Water Referral course. Rental of all diving equipment is included in the cost. What we do recommend is to buy your own mask, snorkel and fins. Because you will feel a lot more comfortable underwater with your own equipment that fits you well.
Choosing the right dive center
There is always a dive center near your you, in your neighbourhood or the city/town you live in. To locate a PADI dive center closest to you, visit padi.com/scuba-diving/dive-shop-locator
Some dive centers may have limited course dates, so please enquire before you book a course.
You should be made to feel welcome and important and be able to speak to the instructors about what your requirements are and how they can best meet them.
