Get your PADI Advanced Open Water qualification on holiday

Follow a PADI Specialty course on a scuba diving holiday from Ocean Legends Tours in South Africa and Mozambique.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you to increase your confidence and skills so you will feel more comfortable underwater.

This is a good way to do more dives and also to continue to learn under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You will be introduced to new activities and new fun ways of diving. You'll expand your skills by doing five adventure dives:

  • Underwater navigation
  • Diving in deeper water (usually between 18 and 30 meters)
  • Three other Adventure Dives of your choice

Diving equipment

Basically, you don't have to buy any equipment for the PADI Advanced Open Water course. Rental of all diving equipment is included in the cost. What we do recommend is to buy your own mask, snorkel and fins. Because you will feel a lot more comfortable underwater with your own equipment that fits you well.

Learning the theory

On the first day of the tour you will receive a list of available adventure dives for the locations you will be visiting, you will choose 3 adventure dives together with your Ocean Legends PADI instructor.

For the 5 subsequent dives, you will have to read the concerning chapters in the PADI Advanced Diver Manual and complete a knowledge review at the end of each chapter, and then you'll do the Adventure dive. Your instructor will guide you and help you develop any new skills and techniques required.
